Spiritualist Church

Lil made a Sunday dinner with lamb, carrots, peas, cauliflower and potatoes. I didn’t have lamb but I did have boiled eggs. Jayne said that when her mother cooks there is no room in the kitchen, so all she could make is eggs.

Then Val, Lil’s sister, came over in the afternoon. We ate about 2pm.

Jayne said that if I’d like to go I can come with them to the spiritual church that Lil and Val go to. I said yes. About 5.45pm Val came over to pick us up. The church is in Stourbridge which is about 5 miles from here.

This is my first time in such a church so I thought it would be interesting to see what they say.
We got there early and Jayne says they like to go early so they can get a parking spot.

The meeting started with a woman reading something from a spiritual booklet. Then we sang some religious songs. I noticed that one or two of them had something about spirits.

Then the speaker came on who is a medium and spiritualist. After some introductory words he suddenly broke out into telling messages that he got. He pointed to one woman who was sitting in front of us about her departed husband. Then he pointed to the woman who sat next to her. He used names and the women confirmed this.

This went on for about 30 minutes. Out of about 100 people there, he just talked to about 6-7 people. Then there was a song again and it was over. Afterwards there was tea, coffee and cakes in the adjacent room.

At first it was interesting as this was the first time that I heard a medium. I noticed the reaction of the people and apparently what he said was true. This was interesting. However, i got bored with it and even sleepy because all we heard was trival about others. Naturally, it’s interesting for those who were addressed the message but for the rest of the people it didn’t apply to them. Naturally, he didn’t have time to go to everyone and even if he did, it would have taken a couple of hours.

The guy, Geoffrey said that he does this because he wants to bring the message of health and better living to the people, or words to that effect. Afterwards I thought how strange, if this was the case why he didn’t bring the ‘nuts and bolts’ of how to have a better life!

Later, I reflected on what transpired and what Geoffrey had said about helping those to have a better life. I heard a lot more wisdom from the Jeff Rense program, for example, than what I heard tonight. I’ve also heard better advice from other websites, too.

For example, why didn’t he tell of how to stay healthy, how to get over any kind of disease, how to change your emotions to ones that make all you do better. What about the kind and type of government we should have the economic system that goes with it. What about what individuals can do to see themselves and their families through the economic Depression we are in?
I know what needs to be done to help people in nearly all areas of life. What Tony Robbins and others in his field teaches the tools you need to vastly improve your life. In fact, all of this can be learned without knowing or having one contact from the spirit world.

(The following is what I’ve heard in general about people who have contact with the spirit world.)

Yes, it’s nice to hear from someone you loved that departed, but all that is is a message that they are very happy where they are and nothing much more. The messages people get are not words of wisdom and the specific things that person or people in generally need to know. Yes, they talk about love and peace but not the specifics. The specifics you can learn from people who already were successful you can learn the specifics from the Bible and God’s laws about economics, government and how to live life.

By the way, the Bible was not used in this church or long quotes from Bible passages.
I will not be going back. At the most that I can learn is if I got a personal message or Jayne got one. But then if I did it would be something like, “I’m fine, do you remember when we went to...etc.”

We got home about 9pm.

When Val asked about my thoughts, I didn’t tell her everything that I wrote above but I did say how it got boring. She said people come to get confirmation of life after life. I said all I need is one and there is no need to listen to it over and over again. To this she had no comment.
