Thursday June 4Jayne and I got up at 6.30am to get ready to go to Wales. When we finally left it was 7.45am. I did the driving. About 7 minutes onto our trip Lil said she forgot her purse (that had money in it, too). So, I had to drive back. She said she couldn't believe that she left in her house. By the time we left again it was 8.10am.
About half way into the trip we stoped to go food shopping. This stop also had a service station and a restaurant attached to it. Also Attached to it is a company that bottles water (what a combination).
Jayne and Craig in Barmouth, Wales, on the day we arrived.
Shortly after this we got into Wales. It was a nice day with few clouds that made it nice. Part of the way, the roads were winding and narrow. This is something that I don't like but most of England is like this.
When we entered Wales, you see signs in both languages. The first one is in Welish and the other in English.
Near our destination we stoped at a sea-side tourist town. We stoped there and took about an hour walking around. It was very nice with nearly all the buildings made in stone. There was a wide beach, sea-side cafes and a quaint town with houses and churches over-looking the sea.
What was different was that there is three churches in one block area and they were all turned into stores - mostly selling beach and tourist related souveniers. I took some pictures there.
Then we got on the road and were at Lil's home here in about 15 minutes.
Lil's home is real nice with a living room, dining room, kitchen, a wash room and three bedrooms. The bedrooms are small with bearly enough room to get around the bed. In the bedroom and we were given also has a walk-in closet and it's own bathroom. Around the front and one side of the house is a veranda.
One of the first things that Jayne and I did was to walk to the beach which is about a 10 minute walk. The beaches here are real wide. We had to walk on a boardwalk that went over the sanddooms. We there were only a few people laying on the beach and no one was swimming (too cold I assume).
We spotted two large jellyfish on the beach. I took a picture of one of them with Jayne's sunglasses next to it - to give a prospective of the size. I certainly don't want to be stung by one of them! But I don't plan to go swimming here.
Along the way to the beach we passed the house that Lil's relative lives in all year long. He is the owner of the park that we live in. There also is a store, laundry mat, a fish 'n chips restaurant and a reception building. The reception building is for those who come camping.
There is also trailer park on the way to the beach. This is for those with less money. The trailers are perminately parked there and they do look nice but they are close together.
On the way back we stoped at the registration room and asked if they have Internet there for the public. The Welsh woman said no. Then I went back and told her that we are guests of one of the owners who has a cabin here. She said no and had said a couple of time " You do understand!" Jayne and I both thought that what does she think we are children! She also said that there is no Internet in town (the beach-front town I talked about).
A strange way of mannerism. Anyhow, she said she does sell wireless Internet cards. She showed us the cards and we could see that you can buy them for 1,3 and 7 days.
Why she didn't tell us that when I first asked is strange!
She said you need your own computer that has wireless connection and I told her that I have a computer with this.
We left as we plan to buy a card tomorrow so we can get a full day's use from it. I will only buy one card just in case I can't pick up a signal or have a problem with my computer.
I certainly hope that I can get Internet as I don't want to lose a possible sale while I'm gone. If I can't get Internet I'll have to call Matt once a day or at least once every two days. He said he expects someone to look at the property this weekend.
In the evening Jayne pointed out a rabbit that was near the house. She said this place has a lot of rabbits and you can see a lot of them on the lawn in the evening and early morning hours. I plan to get pictures and videos of that.
