Monday January 26
Jayne and I decided to go the mall. About 10 minutes before we left Richard called. He said that he realized today that its Monday and forgot that it was Sunday yesterday to come over. I said we were going to the mall and he can meet us there.
Richard came to the restaurant where we had a nice talk. He told us that his partner said it was ok to move out of Ecuador. He’ll be happy to leave. He said it would be about 120 days before he’ll be ready to move as he has to do minimum repair on the hotel that he bought that is near a volcanic lake. There are some other things that he’ll have to consider such as, whether to sell his apartment or rent it out. Then he’ll have to sell his new cruise boat that takes people to Galapagos and also to sell his car.
Richard is not decided for sure what country he wants to move to but under consideration is New Zealand, which he had visited a few months ago.
When we were back at the house and Richard and I were having tea Jayne yelled, “What is that?” I looked at what she was looking at and on the patio there was some kind of strange bug or what looked like a bug. It had a big black body a thin neck and what looked like three spikes pointing up and it was moving towards us! Upon closer examination it was some flying insect that was pulling a dead terranchla (poisonous spider). Then it took off leaving the dead spider.
Well, this is the first time that any of us saw a terranchla in Ecuador! What else will we find in the yard?!
