Sunday January 18
Today the ad for the house should be in the newspaper. Jayne and I did what we could to get the house ready in case someone comes by today. I think that Matt would answer his cell phone. I know he would not be in his office. He goes to church so I know he would not have his phone on. Normally, he goes to his farm on eth weekend but he will be in the city each weekend until the end of January.
So far no call from Matt.
I got a thought about clients coming over. We have to watch the people that we show the house to. I thought that we have to watch when they are in the rooms to make sure that they don’t go in the draws. And when we are finished showing a room and taking them to another room to make sure that everyone leaves together. I will not be surprised that parents will bring their children and it’s usually the children that would still be in the room while the rest of the family follows me to another room.
With the thieving that goes on in Ecuador it could be deliberate where the parent will tell the child to take something out of the drawer. Or it could be the parent that does it. Since Jayne and I are still living here, we have to put our valuable somewhere. And when strangers come here they know that what’s valuable has to be in the drawer.
We know that workers had taken things right under our noses. Thieves in other countries would be more careful. So, we have to be on extra alert!
