Meeting Our Lawyer

Thursday July 31

We had to go to the city again to get more work done towards getting an extended visa for Jayne.

Friday August 1

We went to my lawyer’s office to turn in the paperwork that we collected. All was in order but she still needed some additional things from me. She said that I could email them to her. Fortunately I have a scanner where I could make a copy on Adobe. Maria said that it would be good for Jayne to get an Ecuadorian police check as she doesn’t have her UK police check. She advised that we do it today.

We asked about the travel agency that she used when she went on her honeymoon to Columbia. So Maria called to get info. The agency got some info while we were still there saying that a plane ticket to Bogota (capital of Columbia) would be $444/per person for the flight. Then she had to get back to us about the hotel. There was no special package but we said that we would like a 4-5 star hotel with meals included.

I found out through research that if something is less than this the room would be dirty, service bad and other problems. I hate to pay this much but I don’t want to live in a dump while there. We plan to be there for about 3 days – to make sure that we get everything done before we have to leave.

The tentative date would be leaving on Aug 11 and returning Aug 15th.

Saturday August 2

I called Tarquin to let him know that we have to leave the country but are looking forward to seeing them when we return (as he and his wife offered a honeymoon suite for 2 days or so). He was glad that I called. He said to give him 3-4 days notice so they can reserve the room for us.

I said that we would have come earlier but because of all the paperwork that is needed here we couldn’t get away.

Sunday August 3

I went to the mall while Jayne stayed home. I went on the internet (as the speed is faster than at home) and Jayne did the laundry.
